African Innovation Week (AIW) is a global movement aiming to energize innovation and entrepreneurship that brings tangible and inclusive development in the African continent. Once a year, AIW brings together global stakeholders from public, private, startup ecosystems and academia in Addis Ababa. Throughout the year AIW arranges different events in AIW scope, to uncover the innovative solutions and facilitate collaboration between investors and entrepreneurs. The vision of AIW is to create a global platform that gathers innovative African startups to come together and share their experiences with Norwegian and international entrepreneurs get connected with potential investors, executive bodies, and game-changers to pave the path for sustainable, mutual and inclusive development from the 9th -13th Nov 2020.
African Innovation Week 2020 will bring together global stakeholders from public, private, startup and research ecosystems. Over 20 different thematic areas will be raised and debated on that you can be part of from wherever you are. There will be pitching of selected innovative ideas by young innovators that will challenge investors to work with them. Last but not least there will be opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs to network and set the path for collaboration.
African Innovation Week primarily aims to contribute to six of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, No Poverty(SDG1), Quality Education(SDG4), Gender Equality(SDG5), Decent Work and Economic Growth(SDG8), Partnership for the Goals (SDG9) and Industry Innovation and Infrastructure(SDG17) by linking investors to entrepreneurs with digital solutions for post COVID19 era in Edtech, Agrictech, Tourism tech, Energy, women innovation and entrepreneurship and indigenous innovations.
