AfCFTA, the ecommerce game changer for every African Youth

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) entered into force on 30th May 2019 and gives Africa’s private sector access to a single market for digital trade and e-commerce.

UNCTAD reports that e-commerce is growing exponentially (US$25 trillion in 2015, up from US$16 trillion in 2013), indicating that African countries can gain a share of this market.

A continent-wide market that embraces 55 countries with 1.3 billion people and a combined GDP of US$3.4 trillion.

African Youths and Women have to re-strategize on how to position their businesses for exponential growth.

It is important to have as many channels as possible for your business if you want to make more sales. There is no limit to the number of ecommerce marketplaces you should identify with. You only need a great team at the end of the funnel ready to attend to your client’s needs.

Websites,Whatsapp Business, Instagram, Facebook and even platforms like ecomconnect marketplace and SOKOKUU.AFRICA are readily available for exploitation.
